Charity time! We have been talking about baring our soles for the past few weeks on air and this is all to help the poor in developing countries who don’t have the basic needs like shoes or even a roof over their heads. Each DJ has his or her own pledge and we were trying to raise money for the poor.
I managed to raise $440 and I’m very grateful to everyone who kindly contributed. The Power Crew turned up bright and early on Saturday 5th June at East Coast Park for the 5km barefooted walk.
Sebastian and me were the hosts of the morning as we got everyone in the mood before flag off and also to help hand out some certificates of appreciation.
When everyone got back we continued to host the post walk entertainment with many band performances including one from our good friends Jack and Rai.
The duo stayed back to help present some lucky draw prizes which people could take part by simply buying a donation ticket at $2. The grand prize was an autographed Wayne Rooney Manchester United Jersey, thanks to the main sponsors, Barclays.
Opps……I wasn’t the winner…..hahaha!
