I’m now not sure what to expect from England at the World Cup. It’s just 3 days away and so many high profile injuries have made the headlines. A question came to mind……….Is the English league too tough? I mean look all the high profile injuries are from the English league.

One team that has really suffered is England. Up till Saturday it seemed like the team was coming together even though Gareth Barry was still recovering. But then Captain Rio Ferdinand injured his knee. Now he has been plagued by injuries the entire season but he is a leader, a commander on the field………..unlike the new captain Steven Gerard.

That’s one big loss………….oh remember David Beckham? Not the fastest player out there but then again the ball travels faster than a sprinter so yeah, one launch of the ball from Becks and good luck to the opponents chasing it.

He will be playing cheerleader for the England team this World Cup and how valuable will that be………..it could go a long way but I still think him being on the field will do more than him being on the touchlines. With these 2 players out, I kinda lost my mood to watch the World Cup.

That plus the mad price to pay to watch it.

And so the hopes of the entire nation will rest on this boy’s young shoulders.

I will never question this kid’s commitment to the game. He is just like Becks when he plays………..100% committed. However the tail end of the season wasn’t too kind on him was it. Ankle and groin injuries were bothering him but yet he didn’t care, he just wanted to play.

I’m worried man, will England come good at last…………..hard to say. My bet is on the Spanish but even they have their fair share of injuries.

Perhaps this World Cup is slightly jinxed to see all it’s big stars out with injury or maybe it’s blessed because new stars will be discovered.

June 11 will tell all….

Danker out!
