This is a little late but over the weekend I was at the Formula Drift ProAM series at the Plaze, Changi Exhibition Centre to catch some drifting action from loads of cars from around the region. The judges hailed from the US to check out some of our top races take on the track.
Alvin from Marketing was there too wearing some questionable burms…….no comments. Anyway back to the action, it was loud and smelt of burnt rubber but hey that’s the race track……..what a great feeling! Not to mention sandwiches and Beer!
Among some of the attractions, other than your usual car models and merchandise was a chance to go into the pit lanes. You can see the drivers work on their rides, doing tune ups or just simply chillin’ out and waiting for their turn to go on a practice run.
Apart from the sun I’d say this was the closest thing you get to the US Indy races……kinda like a mini festival. Can’t wait for the bigger, louder Formula 1 to come to town.
