Previously I told you my latest collection was the Hottoys Robocop 3 with flight pack and that represented a long time ambition of mine as a toy collector. Well another one that I am slowly fulfilling is owning a hall of armors made up of Hottoys Ironman movie replicas.
Here comes the latest in the form of the Mark VI which was seen in the final battle of Ironman 2 alongside War Machine. This was when the previous arc reactor in the middle of the Ironman suit was changed from a round shape to that of a triangle.
After getting this piece and taking a closer look you can kind of tell that it seems to be a bit of a prototype because the gold parts aren’t totally shiny and there are portions that are silver.
Well for sure Tony Stark will have another suit in Ironman 3 and the Avengers but the fact that the arc reactor is now triangle shaped, you can see that the movie series will be going towards the more modern designs of Ironman in the comic. It was the same thing, the Ironman designs in the comic books in the 90s also had a round shaped arc reactor before moving towards the triangled one in the 2000s.
Personally if you ask me I like the round one better but the more I look at this Mark VI, it does have an edgier feel to it. I figured it was best to portray the final fight scene from Ironman 2 in a diorama with my other Hottoys War Machine replica.
The Mark II, III and IV will take their place below still in a hall of armors type of display until the Mark V arrives in July. And to think I already got a bigger shelf.
Perhaps this guy is the cutest of the lot….hahahaha!
