As promised, a blog post totally dedicated to the Backstreet Boys concert after the Singapore GP. It was held at the Padang right after the race and boy was it packed. Amazing I tell you I totally didn’t expect them to get the sort of reception they did, 16 years on and they are still big crowd pullers.
The sound system was a particular highlight for me as the guys performed some tracks of their solo efforts and they did classic BSB songs with abit of a jazzy funk style to it.
They took awhile to warm up but when they did they really worked the crowd.
It was nice to see alot off people my own age dancing and singing along to their hits, man I felt young again…..like I was 14 when they first burst onto the scene.
They have aged that’s for sure but they kept their performance old school style, it wasn’t a case of them being stubborn to change, they have grown with the times but it’s just their core style of performing worked! People wanted that, they enjoyed that and it was exactly what the group gave.
A concert spanning 2 hours filled with lots of memories and of course their classic co-ordinated dance moves……..hahaha! Ironic that one of the last songs they performed was “Backstreets Back”.
That pretty much wraps up September……what a month man! BSB for the win!
Oh did I mention that I also caught up with AJ and Howie for an interview which will be aired soon on Power 98. Kinda cool cos I think I blend in like a Backstreet boy myself……hahaha!
Danker out!
