The Barclays Premier League Trophy was in town recently and it made it’s way onto the 39th floor of Capitol Tower.

Many footie fans headed there during their lunchbreak to have their photos taken with this massive trophy. A few changed into their jerseys and scarfs too.

As you might have guessed, many were Man Utd, Liverpool and Arsenal fans…….taking pictures with the trophy currently dressed in champions Chelsea colours.

I didn’t exactly get my photo taken with the cup, this is all inside information because you do need permission to take a look at the cup which had 2 huge bouncers guarding it.

Oh and since we’re on the topic of the BPL trophy, here are some fun facts about it.

1. The culprits of the chip on the base of the cup were Arsenal.

2. Current champions Chelsea knocked a fist size dent into the back of the cup. Don’t worry, it’s been knocked back in.

3. Only the base of the trophy dates back to the original one in 1992. The cup portion has been changed over the years in line with different sponsors of the English Premier League.

4. The Premier League trophy is similar to the NHL’s Stanley Cup in which no replicas are made and it’s handed down from one winning team to the next.

Danker out!
