The last “Mummy” movie was in 2001. Though there were reviews that it was not as good as the first one, I thought it was ok.
Now 7 years later the franchise returns with a new villain from China. Brendan Fraser returns as explorer Rick O’Connell to combat the resurrected Han Emperor (Jet Li)
Rick is joined in this all-new adventure by son Alex (Luke Ford), wife Evelyn (Maria Bello) and her brother, Jonathan (John Hannah). And this time, the O’Connells must stop a mummy awoken from a 2,000-year-old curse.
Ok so far so good but then 10 minutes into the movie I really started to miss Rachel Weisz. No offense to Maria Bello, she looks great and shes not a bad actress. It’s just that this time she seemed to imitating the character that Rachel first played, Evie O’Connell.
Sorry Maria, I like you, just not in this movie.
Neh….the acting was way off for me, it didn’t feel like the same franchise from 2001. Perhaps it’s because of the new director and approach but this movie didn’t work for me.
