Shopping can be a deadly deadly addiction, Isla Fisher demostrates just that in the movie Confessions of a shopaholic which is based on a novel of the same name.
She stars as your average young executive writer who is looking to work for a big time fashion magazine. Well she doesn’t quite get the part but she does land a writers’ job at a money magazine under the same parent company.
Trouble is, she has a credit card bill……a very big credit card bill and the debt collector is out to get her. She write’s under the persona “The girl in the green scaf” a person who gives advice on spending and tips from a very down to earth point of view. She’s a breath of fresh air to the magazine and the bosses love her! Wait till they hear about her credit card bill.
Now the fun begins when she trieds to attend shopping rehab to curb her addiction to shopping which caused her to have that huge credit card bill in the first place. Of course everyone lives happily ever after but it’s the process of getting there that was a joy to watch,
One of the best things for me was the many colourful outfits that Isla wore throughout the film, I thought that really brought out both her personality as an actress and the personality of the character she was playing.
Danker out!
