On Saturday 13 Nov 2010, in conjunction with Re-Live at Orchard Central, 2 eco friendly fashion labels were launched in style with the first being Midnight Garden by Etrican.

In case you missed out on the event, here are the official www.elliottdanker.com photos courtesy of Kenneth Wong and a summary of the event.

The first act called Midnight Garden was introduced with a voiceover

“As our world battles eco darkness, Mother Nature seeks an escape.

While humans rest in the still of the night she comes out for that moment of piece, that moment of solitude, that moment where she can feel alive again.

That moment is called, Midnight Garden

Presenting Midnight Garden by Etrican”

Bird Print Mini Dress

This dress features a print of caged birds escaping and flying into the dusk, purple fabric is the color representing the sky just after sunset. This is an easy to wear dress, which can also be worn over leggings or denim.

Hoodie and Flower Print Skirt

This slouchy but sexy hoodie is a great extra item to throw on in chilly air-con environment. The flower print skirt uses a signature print of midnight garden collection, showing vibrant flowers blooming in mysterious shade of midnight.

Double Layered Bird Print Top

The flowing silhouette of this top is inspired by the rustling of the curtain at night, calling you to the midnight garden. Print of two birds on the shoulder is playing dress up. This shirt can also be worn tucked in with a skirt.

Flower Print Romper

This outfit with ribbon shoulder straps and frills showcases something cute and dreamy but the darker tones of the print acts as a shell of maturity.

Fringe Top and Zip skirt

The Golden fringe on a cobalt fabric simulates shooting stars in the midnight sky. This is a two-way skirt; as it can be worn with the zipper head down to create a slit.

Flower Print Maxi Dress

The dress shape is kept minimal and straight unlike common maxi dresses. This piece can be worn with a belt to create a more retro 70s inspired look. The Straps are removable so it can also be changed to a tube or a halter neck.

All hair accessories are made of pre-loved and recycled bags provided by All Things Green and Beautiful

Audrey our host rounded off the first act by interviewing Yumiko Uno, designer of Midnight Garden and Product Manager of Etrican on her inspiration for the designs, why she chose to work with organic cotton and eco label Etrican.

Organic cotton protects the health of farmers and consumers by preventing the spread of harmful chemicals through water and air.

Organic cotton is less likely to trigger allergies: there are no harmful chemicals and organic cotton is more breathable.

Danker out!
