The story of Michael Jackson’s final concert. His big come back only to end in sadness…….the concert the world would never get to see.

But through over 80 hours of footage, that concert was brought to the big screen and it tells a story of the man we never got to know. We know him for his music, his passion and his dancing but who is Michael Jackson? What is he like during rehearsals………..This is it shows us just that.

It was a touching movie for me because I grew up listening to Michael Jackson. There was this sense of closeness to his music which kinda made him like the uncle I never knew. Watching him sing “I just can’t stop loving you” with Judith Hill was one of my favorite scenes.

Sometimes we find it hard to concentrate at work. So it’s important to make your work station a condusive one. Here are 3 steps to turn your desk into a wonderful happy place!

Step 1:

Put up photos of yourself, as well as little toys for entertainment purposes.

Step 2:

Ensure that everyone knows that you are a part time superhero to strike fear into those who might sabbo you at work.

Step 3:

Put lots of things around your desk to make it look like you are very busy………this way no one will bother you.

There you go, a condusive work environment.

A year older, not so sure about a year wiser…………hahaha, I had a nice simple birthday celebration and it was just the way I like it, with my close friends. There really isn’t much to blog about but I do have many thank yous to the people who turned up.

There’s Eugene who had to overcome his diet and allergies………….hahaha!

Ming who had an overdose of Ham and salt resulting in preserved organs I would imagine.

The Newer than new, one night only Power Crusin’ with Penny and Elliott………….hahahaha! Truth is Sebastian was away on reservist and couldn’t do the show so I had to cover for him on my pre-birthday celebration with the Power crew. 

It was pre-birthday for me and belated birthday for Penny cos her birthday is 10 days before mine so we sort of had a celebration show with gifts exchanged. As you can see I have a new mask for Halloween thanks to Charmaine and a mini-me Ironman from Penny.

This present is more of a private joke so only Penny and Jensen would get the humour in it……………begging your pardon. Now if your wondering why the photos have abit of a dreamy effect, Penny and I suspect it was a thumbprint on the lens……hahahaha!

After the show, most of the crew met up for an event, Sebastian managed to drop by after his reservist and of Harry and Jensen were there as well.

When you have a wedding…………….don’t put a bunch of DJs together, it’s dangerous.

The night eneded of with drinks at Overeasy and Butter factory, thanks to everyone who came down for my pre-birthday celebration.

British Pop band Raygun was in Singapore for an exclusive showcase at Movida, St James Powerstation and of course they dropped by the Power98 studios for a live interview on my show, Double Expresso as well as the acoustic lounge with Harry.

The whole group started when Ray was asked to do a demo recording for a group that was originally supposed to play heavy metal. Fortunately producers we so impressed with Ray’s style that Raygun was formed.

These guys are a bunch of nice folks and the interview was very enjoyable cos we all got along very well. Check out their album and their current single “Just Because” which airs on Power98.

“just Because” is one of the more rock tunes from a slightly electro album…………abit of a contrast but you can check out their acoustic set on the Acoustic Lounge on Saturday from 8 to 9pm on Power98.

There are so many photos for this entry man……….over the weekend Power98 was the official radio station for Timbre Oktoberfest with Starch at Timbre Mobile, which is Timbre’s 4th and newest outlet.

It’s made up of 4 containers off a big 18 wheeler and will be at East Coast Park, beside carpark C1 for 6 months before moving to a new location. Pretty cool idea plus you get good food and music coming to your neighbourhood if your lucky.

Day 1: Friday night we celebrated Power Crusin’s Penny’s birthday and it was a night that saw me totally smashed. Was I tired, too happy? I have no idea, all I know is that the free flow beer was too much for me…………….ahhhh the dangers of this job I tell you.

Day 2: It was abit more sober on Saturday as most of us that turned up were there to support the Power Crusin duo who were the hosts.

Harry, who hosted the first night was a little bit more loose…………..finally enjoying himself instead of hosting. The dude was like dancing and doing his Michael Jackson thing.

I swear I could still taste the beer in my mouth when I was there………..what or what was I thinking…….. The crew was making fun of me cos they finally got to see me drunk for the first time. What’s worse was even the folks from Timbre tought it was funny.

Why Sebastian was feeding me, I donno but hey my personal Heidi from Friday was there and Hannah was once again on hand to make sure my glass didn’t go empty………….oh no, sounds familiar……

I stayed sober and just as I was about to leave, some listeners came over and asked me to join them for a drink. In the end we talked till late and I quite enjoyed myself with this nice bunch.

Day 3: Ok no more taste of beer in my mouth thank goodness but it was my turn to host Timbre Oktoberfest. Good thing I had a wingman…………Sebastian from Power Crusin.

Blah Blah Blah we go, playing drinking games and up comes the band from Switzerland, Starch for one final nice of funky music!

Things got a little too funky cos we started playing games like jumping over the beer barrel to holding the barrel with just our fingers. Person who can hold the barrel with just his fingers longest wins………..bragging rights.

I was up first and didn’t do so well………….pain la……

Sebastian did alot better, clocked himself a respectable time….

But in the end, the ang mo wins. Daniel clocked like over a minute man. But things had to get even funkier……because suddenly out of nowhere was this fella below……

Ok hosting over, time to wind down and enjoy the last bit of Sunday night. So I ropped a few Heidis to join me…………hahahahaha!

If you are a big footie fan in Singapore then you know Joe Morrison! Well the main man from Football Channel Starhub Chn 27 dropped by the Power98 studios to join us as a guest for an episode of “On the ball”.

You can catch the telecast on Power98 10 Oct and 17 Oct, 12noon to 1pm, as we preview the international and BPL matches for these 2 weeks.

I gotta say that it was fun hosting with him, this guy is a pro man and the chemistry between the 4 of us was just fantastic. Too bad we had to keep dissing him cos he’s a Toon fan……….hahaha, sorry mate.

Well, we can’t afford him……….haha but the good news is that good old Kevin McCormick will be back on the show with us from 24 Oct.

Roadtrip! Over the weekend, I led a trip to Desaru Malaysia car rally style. All the cars were nicely decked out with stickers from Konsortium Travel, Power98FM and 883JIAFM.

So together with Dejiang and Zhang Ying we set off from Jurong Bird Park bright and early at 7am!

We didn’t arrive alone though, most of the Power crew were there so it kinda turned out to be a weekend getaway.

In between of course we had some side show entertainment from the pinoy…..Harry Corro………hahahha! This fella got up on stage and started to play the keyboards and sing……………..badly…….hahaha!

What Dejiang, Zhang Ying and Me had to do was basically lead the tour and host the big dinner we had as part of the Mid Autumn celebrations. It was actually very nice cos of the cool breeze from the rain and the dark skies which gave the lanterns effect.

It wasn’t all work, we had some time in between to mess around and we had day swimming………

On our way back to Singapore on Sunday we stopped for lunch and of course there’s no guessing who the resident glutton was.

All that food considering we stuffed our faces during breakfast because we were scared we might get hungry on the journey back to Singapore…………..guess someone has a bottomless pit.

This post is entirely cheap thrill…………cos filming was done at the AXN lost and found party which celebrated Lost’s 100th and CSI Miami’s 150th episode and well the Power Crew slutted themselves on TV…..hahahaha!

Apart from 1st October being children’s day, it was also the start of Oktober fest. I went down to the launch at Swiss club actually to catch up with some old friends from APB………..instead the glutton Harry was invited too and well as he would put it…..

Back to the event, there was this German band performing some traditional German tunes and getting everyone in the Oktoberfest mood until much later in the night when they decided to play retro stuff…..oh boy.

Check this out, these 3 girls were dancing on the bench in front of us…..man me and Harry were scared that it would break…..hehehehehe!

More familiar faces, this is Iris whose dressed up as some German beer server…..I donno……Harry called every girl dressed this way “Heidi”…….no comments.

The food was good I tell you and of course the beer too……..in the end the catch up session with Fraizer and Elena went well, man has it been 2 years since we last met…..gosh sorry man.
