The 3rd of our monthly parties at Powerhouse at St James power station took place last night and because it was a day before Michael Jackson’s birthday, we called it the black or white party.

Amoung the highlights, we announce the brand new DJ show line up which was set to take place on Monday 31 Aug. Same DJs, different showtimes. This was after a round of musical chairs we played that decided our fate.

As always it was a packed crowd for a night of fun with loads of prizes given away.

After abit too many drinks, we started cam whoring……..

And of course my constant quest to drive Silver (see pic below) insane……..I think I’m coming close…..hehehe!

Time for an upgrade! I’ve got myself the Ironman Mark 3 replica from Hottoys as I look to expand my hall of armours. 2 down and possibly 3 to go, right now all that’s left from the first movie is the Mark 1. Then I’ll have to wait for the mark 4 and War Machine models from the second movie.

Anyway here are some shots of the Mark 3 which will be taking it’s place next to the Mark 2 in my hall of armours surrounding my desk…….wooo it’s exciting man! Check out the close up…….

As part of the construction of my hall of armours, I got 2 plastic cases to house the Mark 2 and 3.

I can’t believe I’m actually doing this project but it’s a great hobby, a healthy one as my friend Ed would put it…..hahahaha!

I guess Mark 1 will be next but not till after AFA09………perhaps I will present myself a Mark 1 Christmas gift, cool!

In my final round up of the Toys, Games and Comics convention held last weekend at Suntec city convention centre hall 401, I’m gonna put up some of the pictures of the cosplay competition. This is cosplay Jap anime style.

A craz that has picked up so well in Singapore the past few years, these guys put in alot of effort into the accuracy of their costumes and of course the more difficult task of acquiring the materials to put their outfit together. Here’s a few pictures of the cosplayers, courtesy of Kenneth.

Well they faced off in friendly competition.

Some were funny with huge grins…..

Others were cool like this guy, get this….he practically had a whole campaign going on for him……..

Haha pretty impressive and he had the charisma to carry it out.

There were also mega cosplayers like Strike Freedom………massive man, really massive…..

And of course, the Sheryls and Rankas…….Macross Frontier, it’s been a year since the season ended and the hype continues to rise…

But if you ask me, the guy below is the best…………

Here’s another bunch of guys that caught my attention during the Singapore Toy, Games and Comic Convention over the weekend. They are the folks from our very own 501st Legion unit here in Singapore aka Singapore Garrison.

These guys had a booth set up near the entrance as they did their bid for charity combining forces with Starwars.sg to raise funds for the ‘Make a wish’ foundation. Basically visitors could take photos with the Storm Troopers, Jedi Knights, Sith Lords and Darth Vader himself for a small fee of which the proceeds will go to charity.

You can check out this website for more about the 501st Legion at www.501st.sg and take a look at some of the events that they have been a part of as well as their upcoming events. These guys mostly do work for charity so support them if you can and especially if your a star wars fan.

Now the characters being portrayed at the 501st Legion are all bad guys cos thats the squad which wiped out the Jedi. I tried my hand with a little audition and man this helmet is uncomfortable.

Starwars.sg well features the good guys with lots of them being Jedi including this R2D2 unit in the picture below.

Now it’s actual size, movie accurate and it took about just over a year to complete 90% of it. There’s still a paint job and some minor finishes to be done before it is complete. At a cost of about 16k information was gathered from all over the internet via fellow starwars fans who shared details of the dimentions of the unit.

Damn that’s alot of hard work, these guys got passion man.

Anyways I decided to try my hand at something a little more comfortable than a Stormtrooper outfit. I played Jedi……….don’t I feel cool, hahahaha!

It’s every boys dream to become a superhero, or mine at least. And it came to life at this years Toys, Games and Comic Convention which took place at Suntec City’s hall 401 and 402 over the weekend.

Loads of toys on display and like all Comic conventions there were people cosplaying, some for fun while others for competion.

A major feature were some of the western cosplayers from the likes of Bubblebee, V for Vendeta and the Master Chief from Halo. Some of these ultra cool suits were from Moviemania. Think of them as a movie talent and fan club with kick ass replicas.

And thanks to Reno and Conrad from Moviemania, I was allowed to put on the Ironman Mark 3 replica that Reno made. It took about a month to construct and involved quite a few people to help with the molding and cutting up process.

You can’t dress up into it yourself obviously so each part has to be fitted on one at a time. It takes about 15 to 20mins to put on the full suit and as you can see from the picture below, 2 people should do the trick.

I remember Conrad saying that if only we had the machine that Tony Stark uses to put on the suit, wouldn’t that be cool!

It’s padded on the inside for some comfort but after a while it does get hot. Hey…..who said being a superhero was easy.

I decided to go without the helmet for the full Tony Stark look. I gotta thank Edwin for the pictures and for helping to make this happen.

And of course Kenneth for helping to document all this in pictures and these movie poster moments.

With the crowd walking around I just had to say it……..”I am Ironman, the suit and I are one” Hahahaha!

It’s seems that Chris Daughtry might be considering a move to the Superhero business, rocker by day and Batman by night together with his side kick, drummer Joey Barnes as Cat Whoa-Man. The dynamic duo hit the San Diego Comic con in disguise to check out the festivities without drawing too much attention………….or not….

Check out the funny video below. If you ask me, Daughtry’s got a fierce enough face to be Batman but the beard looks rough man. As for Cat Whoa-Man, well he decides on a quick cat nap.

Cool, very cool…….good move from the group. Definately reaches out to more fans with this Adam West inspired get up. I still have my reservations about Cat Whoa-Man though.

Now this movie is a little far out. Get this, your a high flyer from Canada working in America and one day your bosses tell you that there are some problems with your paper work and documentations meaning you have to be deported back to Canada.

What? No way……….oh yes way, that’s what Sandra Bullock’s character Margret faces. Out of desperation she tells her bosses that she and her assistant Andrew, Played by Ryan Reynolds are getting married. Poor dude, he’s actually the subject of her torture everyday at work, he hates her but now he’s about to be stuck with her.

He reluctantly agrees to take part in her charade but with a few conditions of his own. The couple then head up to Alaska for the weekend to meet his parents and to his horror, an impromtu wedding is in the works. What’s worse is an immigration officer is on their tail.

Sounds like fun doesn’t it………….haha!

This ones gonna be a short post. I was on my way home just now and I remembered to stop by Takashimaya to pick up my F1 tickets………woo hoo!

Now I’m all set for the Singapore Grand Prix…..I am so looking forward to it. Just thinking about the roaring engines is getting me excited.

The only downside though would be that Schumacher won’t be racing. Unfortunately his neck injury from Feb can”t quite hold up so he won’t be able to take the G forces that will be inflicted on him while racing.

 Peter Jackson produces this science-fiction film that just makes you wonder that if aliens came to Earth who would be worse, Humans or Aliens?

District 9 is set in South Africa where Alien spacecrafts have come to our world and are seen hovering over many locations, interrupting daily human lives and raising concerns from th residents of the area. The Aliens have become refuges and suddenly find a friend in a government agent who is exposed to their biotechnology.

This film is also said to be a sort of social commentary, which is not what you would usually expect from films featuring aliens.

Technically brilliant and emotionally wrenching, District 9 has action, imagination, and all the elements of a thoroughly entertaining science-fiction classic.

We are one, CK one. That’s the new bold statement from Calvin Klein Fragrances. The relaunch of CK one features the words “We are one” all over the bottle in different languages.

This represents the unity of the human race. It doesn’t matter what language or race you are because the message is that We are one! And this has also been put into a song titled ‘We are one’ sung by Jamie Burke. You might wanna check it out on youtube.

I hosted the relaunch with Penny over the weekend outside Tangs Orchard. Lots of great deals were also there in case you missed out. One of the highlights was that you could log on to their website www.ckone.com and they will take a photo of you and upload it onto the site. Kinda like a social networking site.

They also had a nice set where CK one was being sold. We even asked people to share with us their one action that would make a difference to the world or even their one message of hope for everyone. Most of them were about recycling which is the best choice really as well as just simply putting on a smile and spreading the possitivity.

All in a days work and even though it was hot, at least there were alot of nice people around.
