Winds of Change

So how was Comex for you? From what i’ve heard so far it was a blast!

I managed to squeeze past the human sardine can in Citylink mall on Friday to make my way up to Suntec city. My friend Sebastian bought an Acer Aspire-one for internet on-the-go. It’s a small laptop, about 8 inches or so in width. Pretty good idea esp if your the type who spends long hours travelling and you have a mobile modem

I got my hands on a white Razor mouse as I slowly get ready to convert to a Apple Mac user. All I need now is to wait for the new Macbooks to arrive with what I was told would be new proccessors. So must control and be patient.

What I love about Razor mouses is the design and how cool and futuristic the lights make it look. I’m not a gamer but I’m a big fan of Razor. That’s not all, they never fail to impress me even up to their packaging. Just check out the bag that came with it.

The big bag is because I was given a free mouse pad. Took a smaller one because the big white one (the original free gift) just wasn’t practical for me due to table space constrain…….but I was tempted to just take it though. After all it was white, which is a perfect match for the mouse and the Mac.

So that’s that for Comex. I did more shopping on Saturday at Crumpler. Got myself a nice new bag for work after the persuation of a friend, which I’m grateful for because it looks really good. So now I also like Crumper products….wah!

I kind of consider this as a gift because the truth is I actually spent quite a while deciding what bag to buy until my friend just brought this bag to the counter and made the decision for me and you know what…….I’m really grateful that happened cos I think I would have probably bought something I would regret.

Certainly a weekend of change man………damn I still can’t wait for the mac. Help!

Star Wars: The Clone Wars

Set between Episode 2 and 3, Star wars: The Clone Wars looks set to depict the Star Wars galaxy like you’ve never seen it before.

As the Clone Wars sweep through the galaxy, the heroic Jedi Knights struggle to maintain order and restore peace.

More and more systems are falling prey to the forces of the dark side as the Galactic Republic slips further and further under the sway of the Separatists and their droid army.

Anakin Skywalker is joined by his new Padawan learner Ahsoka Tano and they find themselves on a mission that brings them face-to-face with crime lord Jabba the Hutt.

Expect Count Dooku to also make his return, along with your favorites Obi-Wan Kenobi and Master Yoda who lead the clone army to resist the forces of the dark side.

Ok, we are reviewed,

Diamond Crevasse

This morning I took a look at Kenneth’s blog and I read his post on the latest episode of Macross Frontier. I love anime and till today I’m grateful to 2 of my closest friends, Sebastian and Kenneth for introducing me into the world of anime 4 years ago.

A friend told me over the weekend that I’m a man of fire, a man with alot of passion, yet watching Macross Frontier has so far been the only anime to invoke so much emotion from me. I know it sounds silly but this particular series has come at a significant time in my life.

Reading Kenneth’s post on ep 20, I decided to go to youtube and searched “Diamond Crevasse”, my favorite song from the anime.

I found spoilers and sad ones I might add.

“Watch at your own risk….spoilers of a very sad episode”

Having said that, the series is really taking off and it gets every bit more exciting each week. The real emotion lies within the love triangle. Who will Alto choose, Ranka or Sheryl………I do hope its Sheryl, she seems stronger for him, the inspiration he needs. Yet Ranka is innocent and can provide unselfish love.

5 more eps before it ends……I guess we’ll know then.

Heartstrings Walk 2008

I had the previlage to host the Heartstrings walk 2008 yesterday with PM Lee conducting the flag off. It was basically a community walk over at the Esplanade and we managed to pull through even though it was raining.

The hosts from Power were Harry and Me and we were joined by Kae In and Kevin from JIA.

It was nice to see the positive community spirit among Singaporeans, everyone all smiles….even the kids joined in. There was also a best dressed competition and some of the costumes people came in were Barney the dinosoar, a Sunflower man, a giant mouse, King Kong and even angels.

Overall it was a great event and a fun time out in the rain with my colleagues……..although I accidentally “kissed” my mic and gosh it tasted horrible. I can still imagine the taste right now while writing this post. Kae In also kenna…….yucks, mic smooch!

Reporting from the rain…..

Going Down to Portsdown

Well it’s the weekend and I spent this evening with Choy over at Portsdown Road, at a bar called Klee! Dinner was pizza at Cicada just nearby.

Anywayz it was good company cos May and Audric joined us…….I quite like the place, very chill and relaxed plus the manager Ken was excellent in his hospitality.

The thing about this place is all drinks are mixes and I had some pretty interesting ones…….one of them was even named after Choy…haha!

And so that concludes my Friday night………but wait, I have a random moment to share, it was raining today and a certain DJ decided to switch off the lights and turn the studio into a club.

As you can see, the madness has gotten to him!

Danker out!

Breakfast after Dinner

I met up with Grid Girl Leanna (who is in Sunday times this week) and Kenneth for dinner today. I’d say it was one of those days where you just need some fresh air.

Well it is Thursday afterall and the weekend is just around the corner and this being Singapore, the hustle and bustle during dinner time was what made it familar and right at home for us after a busy and tiring day at work.

We ate at New York New York in Citylink mall….yup right smack in the centre of crowds! Haha after a heavy dinner, we went on to have breakfast! Yes…..you heard me right, breakfast! Didn’t realise they had all-day breakfast so we went for it man, full on Pan cakes! Oh man………sooooo good!

After that we were so full it was hard to drag our sleep butts home…….but we made it! Tuesday will see us return for breakfast during dinner time again but I think we will just have the all-day breakfast.

Danker out!

Forgetting Sarah Marshall

Now here’s a comedy about a guy with a famous girlfriend and if your in that situation don’t you think you’ve got it all? Well in Peter Bretter’s (Jason Segal) case….not quite.

Sarah Marshall (Kristen Bell) breaks up with him and runs off with Rock star Aldous Snow (Russell Brand). Peter is persuaded by his close friends to go on a holiday and ends up in Hawaii but guess who happens to be there?….yup…Sarah Marshall!

Over all, this comedy took a while to take off but when it did, the jokes were non-stop. I’m sure this is a film that alot people can relate to and so I’m recommending it. Light hearted comedy is one reason, the other…..Kristen Bell (I’m allowed to be bias)

Russel Brand stole the show for me with his performance as an eccentric English rock star with conflicting morals. His take on life is very out of sorts but funny.

That’s all for now, I’m gonna leave you with a shot of me and my new squeeze!

Ok, we are reviewed,

Danker out!
